Overview

This journey is built around Angama: five nights in one of Africa’s most acclaimed safari lodges, elevated quite literally above the Great Rift Valley. It includes a private safari vehicle, hot-air balloon flight, in-tent massage, and even a professional photoshoot — creating a safari that feels both intimate and cinematic.

We’ve paired it with nights before and after in Nairobi to give you space to rest and reset before flying home.

Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrive in Nairobi

Land at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, where you’ll be met and transferred to your hotel for the night — a chance to rest and recalibrate before your journey into the wild.

Relax in the comfort of Hemingways Nairobi, set in the peaceful suburb of Karen, with views of the Ngong Hills and personal butler service. Enjoy a quiet dinner and a good night’s sleep before your safari begins.

Day 2 – Into the Wild

After breakfast, transfer to Wilson Airport for your private flight to Angama Amboseli, located in the heart of the Kimana Sanctuary - 5,700 acres of unspoiled wilderness where elephants roam freely beneath the gaze of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Settle into your suite and take in the uninterrupted views of Africa’s tallest mountain. Explore the lodge’s creative spaces including the Safari Shop, Games Room, Photographic Studio, and Art Gallery or take a dip in the pool while elephants drink from the nearby trough.

Days 3–4 – Safari in the Sanctuary

Spend two full days discovering Amboseli’s remarkable landscapes and wildlife. Morning and afternoon private game drives offer a front-row seat to elephant herds, big cats, and the rare beauty of Amboseli’s quieter corners.

Back at the lodge, unwind with a massage, sip something cool by the pool, or visit the Weaving Studio to see local artistry in motion. Every detail is curated for comfort, connection, and a deep sense of place.

Day 5 – Fly to the Maasai Mara

Board your private flight to Angama Mara, a lodge suspended on the edge of the Great Rift Valley with breathtaking views over the endless savannah.

After settling in, enjoy a relaxed lunch on the deck followed by your first game drive in the legendary Maasai Mara.

Days 6–8 – The Angama Mara Signature Stay

Explore the Mara Triangle with your own private safari vehicle, guided at your own pace. With easy access to the Mara River and the migration routes, each game drive is full of potential: lions on the move, elephants in the river, cheetahs scanning the plains.

In between, enjoy:

A picnic on the Out of Africa kopje
A garden-to-table lunch in the Shamba
Time in the Photographic Studio, Fitness Room, or Pool
A visit to the Beading Studio or Map Room

A 1-hour professional photoshoot is included to capture your journey in this extraordinary landscape.

Day 9 – Return to Nairobi & Departure

Enjoy one last breakfast with views over the Mara, then fly privately back to Nairobi. If your flight schedule allows, we can arrange a day room or a final visit to one of Nairobi’s top artisan boutiques or a a delicious lunch before your international departure.
